| The Emergency Service Risk and Safety
Manager (ESRSM TM) is for those individuals
who wish to be designated as a risk and safety manager in emergency
services. This designation is designed for EMS, fire, and law enforcement
personnel to become educated in the various aspects of safety and
risk management as it pertains to the emergency service industry.
ESRSMTM
Designation
The ESRSM Designation is comprised of 160 hours of coursework broken
into four 40-hour sub designations. The subdesignations include
Vehicle Operations, Operations, Safety Officer, and Injury Prevention.
Each course can be taken individually. After the participant has
completed all the courses under each sub-designation the participant
will be issued a certificate of completion. After the participant
completes all four areas of the Certificate Program they will receive
the ESRSM ™ designation. Participants may be able to use previous
certifications to meet the requirements of courses designated with
the * symbol.
Vehicle Operation
- Emergency Vehicle Driving Instructor and Safety Course 16 hours*
- Accident Investigation 8 hours
- Vehicle Dynamics 8 hours*
- Risk Management 8 hours
Operations
- Infectious Diseases 8 hours*
- Designated Officer 8 hours*
- Patient Handling 8 hours*
- Patient Care Documentation 8 hours*
- Risk Management 8 hours
Safety Officer
- Safety Officer 32 hours
- Risk Management 8 hours
Injury Prevention Specialist
- Injury Prevention 32 hours
- Risk Management 8 hours
Each course can be taken individually and receive a certificate,
Risk Management course can only be taken after preceding courses.
ERSMTM
Designation
ERSMTM, the Executive Level designation,
is designed for upper level managers and participants completing
this level will receive the designation after completion.
